Here are some of the things I have done so far.

I started out in December by meeting with Heather Toone.  She is my health coach.  Not just any health coach however. Heather met with me and asked me basic questions about what it is I wanted to accomplish and what I felt might be keeping me from achieving my goals.  But her way of asking questions and listening, opened things up to a very safe, honest level where I felt like I learned and understood some things about myself that I had never realized before. I am really excited to learn all the things that I can through her positivity  and experience!
Next I met with Barbie Kelley.  She is the person who will be tracking my health progress in a scientifically  measurable way using MRBA testing. She did the first test already before the challenge began, and as I continue on through the process loosing weight and changing unhealthy habits to healthy ones, she will do periodic testing.  This will make it possible to see the physical progress being made and also make sure my body is responding well to the changes. The first test was extremely informative, and I am excited to see how the changes I am making will improve my overall health.
Today I met with my trainer Travis Porter. I walked away sore and super excited!  I have been working out for the last several months doing some of the same weight training that he did with me today but I must have been doing something wrong because I never felt this way when I was working myself out! :)  He is so knowledgeable about what he does and really helped me understand what muscles should be doing the work and how to position my body correctly while lifting to get the best results.  I was amazed at how the smallest tweaks in my posture or positioning totally changed the work out.
Right after my workout I drove to Preston to meet with my dietitian, Jeanine Groll.  She used a machine there in her gym to find out where I was with body fat and muscle and hydration. The results were sobering, but Jeanine is so kind and confident, in both me and in the program, that it gives me confidence too. I am following the Take Shape for Life program with Jeanine overseeing my progress while helping me to track my goals.  I am super excited at how quickly others have seen results using this program and feel like I can do the same.
